Noémia Prada
Lisbon, Portugal • photographer • digital artist • Born 1969
“I do not document the world; I translate its silences into images.”
Born in 1969 in Portugal, Noémia Prada is a contemporary visual artist, photographer, and digital artist whose work explores the intersection between human experience and contemporary digital processes. With a background in journalism, illustration, painting, and photography, and academic training in Communication Sciences and Sociology, her practice is grounded in photographic language and attentive to narrative, composition, and visual meaning.
Having lived and worked across Europe, Africa, and the United States, following her husband’s diplomatic career, her perspective has been shaped by diverse cultural and social contexts. These experiences inform a body of work that reflects on identity, memory, displacement, and the human condition.
Working through carefully curated visual series rather than isolated images, she explores emotion, duality, and existential reflection, maintaining a consistent authorial voice. Her multidisciplinary approach blends emotion, technology, and dream, positioning image-making as a continuous dialogue between reality, perception, and imagination.
